Considered the "Crown Jewel of
the Northeast Kingdom," Inn on the Common is nestled in one of
Vermont's most photographed hill towns, famous Craftsbury Common. A
charming collection of sturdy white clapboard buildings, framed by
towering oaks and stands of pine, this quaint rural setting offers a
gentle reminder of simpler times gone by. The Inn's lovely campus is
home to three meticulously restored Federal Houses, each surrounded
by lush, sprawling lawns and gardens. Inside, The Fireside
Guide says, "Wallpapers and fabrics are stunning and
combinations of colors often unexpected."
In the winter months, the snowbelt location invites the flakes to
fall early and stay longer, Inn on the Common offers some of the
best cross-country skiing in the East. Their famous neighbor, the
Craftsbury Nordic Center offers over a hundred miles of beautifully
groomed trails. And although Spring and Summer bring flowers and
sunshine and startling cobalt blue skies, the star of any Vermont
show is always Autumn. Leaf-peeping season is a tonic for the soul
and there is nowhere better to enjoy it than at Inn on the
Common. Guests return year after year, driving up through the
legendary Green Mountains, to turn our cherished traditions into one
of their own
