Originally built by
railroad magnate and West Central Florida pioneer Henry Plant, the
Biltmore is situated on a high coastal bluff overlooking the Gulf of
Mexico and surrounded by stately pine and oak trees. Opened in 1897,
the majestic Biltmore quickly gained recognition as a favored
retreat for celebrities, industrial barons and international
dignitaries, who often traveled in their own railroad cars.
Still an aristocrat,
the Biltmore has been lovingly preserved and offers guests rare
glimpses of turn-of-the-century style and elegance, including Queen
Anne decorative pieces. Historical Tour highlights include the
elegant Tiffany Room, the Starlight Room, the "Children's
Dining Room," the underground railway, our Sun Parlor Suite and
the Historical Museum. The Belleview Biltmore is listed on the
National Registry of Historical Places.
Located on the
inter-coastal waterway, the resort continues its heritage as a
national treasure. From Victorian accommodations to world-class
amenities, the Biltmore provides the perfect getaway for travelers.
The Belleview
Biltmore offers a relaxing oasis. Guests experience award-winning
cuisine and a choice of year-round recreational opportunities. Red
clay tennis courts offer resort guests a unique challenge. The
Donald Ross-designed golf course has been a local favorite since
1925. And the 14,000-square-foot luxury Spa and Fitness Center
offers special packages to suit every need.
