Cedar Grove Mansion Inn

This magnificent mansion is one of the largest and most elegant bed and breakfasts in the South. It has a fine dining restaurant and piano bar where the locals love to dine and socialize. This fine Antebellum Estate is a great place to experience the Old South.

Capture "Gone With the Wind" elegance and romance in exquisite guest rooms/suites in the Mansion Inn or in one of the restored historic bed and breakfast cottages, the Carriage House Suites or Pool side Garden Cottages all nestled in five acres of gardens.  Each bed and breakfast room is lavishly decorated and furnished with period antiques combined with the conveniences of private baths, cable television, telephone, air conditioning and some with fireplaces and spa tubs.

Once upon a time in the land of cotton, there lived a planter and a businessman by the name of John Alexander Klein. He began the Greek Revival style mansion we know as Cedar Grove in 1840 while he waited patiently for his bride-to-be Elizabeth to mature into the beautiful young woman.  In 1842, he married Elizabeth.   She was 16, he was 30.

Klein bought many of the furnishings we now find at Cedar Grove like the Italian marble fireplaces, French empire gasoliers, Bohemian glass for the doorway, towering gold leaf mirrors, exquisite clocks and paintings that adorn the mansion, during his year long honeymoon in Europe.  In 1852, Cedar Grove was finished.
