The States: 

In an land of mountains and foothills, stunning beaches and Spanish moss, creole accents and country music, the visitor is as welcome as the native. Start in the mountains of North Carolina and travel through breathtaking valleys to the enchanted shores. From the charm of Charleston's historic district to the warm, rolling waves of Myrtle Beach, in South Carolina past and present exist in tandem. 

Tennessee lies between the misty peaks of the Great Smoky Mountains and the broad Mississippi River. Nashville, "Music City, USA" is home of the Grand Ole Opry. Genial ease dominates in Georgia, from cosmopolitan Atlanta through romantic Savanna. Kentucky is famous for horse farms and bourbon, for Bluegrass music and coal mining. 

In Louisiana, they welcome you with pralines and crawfish, Mardi Gras beads and a hearty bienvenue. Bayous and plantation homes, gospel churches and jazz clubs, alligators, iron balconies and steamboats...African, British, Caribbean, Spanish, Native American and French heritages have all added their flavor to the Louisiana gumbo.  

Like the great river that shares its name, Mississippi is a winding, meandering tapestry of antebellum mansions, hardwood forests, vast oceans of cotton, casino gambling and Delta Blues.
