'Old Dominion State' of the US.
One
of the original 13 colonies. It has an area of 40,767 square miles
(105,587 square kilometers). It is bordered by Maryland to the
northeast, North Carolina and Tennessee to the south, Kentucky to
the west, and West Virginia to the northwest. The state capital is
Richmond.
