A graciously restored New England country manor, the Simsbury 1820
House is located in scenic Farmington Valley on the crest of a hill
overlooking historic Simsbury. Relax in the charm of the 19th
century while enjoying all the amenities the 20th century has to
offer.
Listed on
the National Register of Historic Places, the meticulously restored
inn retains the integrity of its original design while offering
accommodations with modern amenities and personal service.
It is truly
a merger of two distinct time periods, as you will find impressive
features such as original leaded glass windows, finely carved
woodwork painstakingly restored to its original grandeur, and
working fireplaces in the parlor and hearthroom.
Overnight
guests may enjoy sipping a complimentary glass of sherry in our
parlor while sitting by the fireplace. The inn's 33 unique guest
rooms are decorated with period fabrics and antiques, all with Down
featherbeds and comforters, Down pillows, and Belgian linen sheets.
Guest rooms
are equipped with TV/VCR, direct dial phones with computer ports and
have full private baths with hairdryers and ironing boards. Many
rooms have 4 poster mahogany beds with canopies.
