In the
1920's, inspired by civic pride, the citizens of Salem,
Massachusetts, established an unusual public subscription drive to
build "Salem's own hotel to meet the particular needs of Salem,
its guests and visitors...". The Hawthorne Hotel has been a
unique and integral part of the city and Boston's North Shore ever
since.
The
Hawthorne Hotel is Salem's only full service hotel. Within walking
distance to all of the cities attractions, museums, historic sites,
downtown shopping, antique shops and the waterfront.
