Dupuy Hotel is one of only four hotels in Louisiana and one of only
172 in the United States chosen for the Conde Nast Gold List 2002.
The Maison
Dupuy Hotel is officially located in the Vieux Carre, meaning
"Old Square" which is comprised of seven square blocks on
the Mississippi, and was established in 1722. Over time many new
hotels and buildings have been built on the edge of the French
Quarter, which is called the "Rope Walk" area. They are
not in the historic Vieux Carre District, and have no historic
heritage. If your interest is to stay in the true Vieux Carre, be
sure and research the hotels location. After 1972 no new hotel rooms
have been permitted in the Vieux Carre.
