Nottaway Plantation

At the edge of sugar cane fields, Nottaway stands overlooking the Mississippi River. This enormous mansion, completed in 1859, reflects an unusual combination. Greek revival architectural elements blend with innovations that were the fanciful desires of the original owner. Not only is the floor plan irregular, but the house contained many elements that were innovative and rare in the mid-19th century, such as indoor plumbing and hot and cold running water.

Nottaway offers bed & breakfast accommodations. Overnight guests may stay in original bedrooms in the main house, or in the boy's wing, or the overseer's cottage. The Master Bedroom Suite is furnished with the original bedroom suite and other bedroom furniture that belonged to John Hampton Randolph, the owner.

As overnight guests, visitors receive a complimentary tour of the house a refreshment beverage upon arrival, an early morning wake-up call with hot coffee and sweet potato muffins, as well as a full plantation breakfast.
